"Mudavadi Is No Longer Reporting To DP Gachagua" Allegations Out On What Is Happening In Government

Prof. Masibo Lumala, a renowned political specialist and lecturer at Moi University, has publicly stated that he does not think Wycliffe Musalia Mudavadi, the prime cabinet secretary, reports to deputy president Rigathi Gachagua as many people would assume.

According to the seasoned university don in an interview with The Nation, President William Ruto pulled off a political masterstroke by making it apparent that Mr. Mudavadi is the country's third in command because it will ensure good working relations with Gachagua.

In actuality, though, he contends that Mudavadi now reports directly to William Ruto, not Mr. Gachagua, as was previously the case. He contends that the command structure's writing was done merely for formality's sake and clarity.

"Having Musalia Mudavadi report to deputy president Rigathi Gachagua is just to contain the rivalry between the two leaders by making them understand that they are not equals, but the reality of the matter is that, Musalia Mudavadi's position is not recognized by the Constitution and that of Gachagua is, but they both report to President William Ruto directly, contrary to what the Executive Order says," he said.
