The incumbent Senator Cleophas Malala is in a tough battle for the governorship race with ODM's Fernandes Barasa with few days remaining to general elections.
The KKA aspirant has continued his fierce attacks on the incumbent Wycliffe Oparanya.
He has accused the outgoing governor of using county resources to promote the Azimio lineup just a few days after he got involved in politics by accompanying Orange Democratic Movement party candidates for senator Brian Lishenga, women's representative candidate Elsie Muhanda, and governor Fernandes Barasa to various campaign rallies.
In a statement via his social media pages, Malala has called upon the Director of Criminal Investigation, EACC and the Independent Electrol and Boundaries Commission to quickly investigate.
"Governor Oparanya has now openly come out to accept the fact that he is using county resources to sponsor the ODM gubernatorial candidate in Kakamega. Hello DCI, EACC, IEBC and all relevant authorities. Which level playing ground are you talking about?" He said.
Fernandes Barasa received a boost after being endorsed by about 4,700 Bodaboda riders in Bukhungu Stadium and when Savula Ayub dropped his bid in support.
