UDA Senatorial Candidate From Mount Kenya Heads To High Court After IEBC Latest Ruling

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission cleared leaders seeking elective seats in the August 9th general elections as it is a body mandated to conduct and oversight elections in Kenya

Karungo Wa Thang'wa, a United Democratic Alliance UDA senatorial aspirant for Kiambu county, has yet to be cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to run for the seat in the upcoming elections. Karungo Thang'wa was dismissed as CEC of the Kiambu County Government in 2017 due to mismanagement of county funds.

And now, Karungo Wa Thang'wa has revealed that IEBC Dispute Resolution Committee has given a dishonest verdict on his case. He has further revealed that he is heading to the High Court over the matter.

The electoral commission had previously stated that aspirants who were impeached while in office would not be allowed to run in the August general elections.

Hon Karungo Thang'wa is the only UDA aspirant whose integrity issues have prevented him to be cleared by the IEBC.
