The Kenya International Conference Centre (KICC) was filled to the brim in their first meeting since the declaration of the presidential results by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairperson, Wafula Chebukati.
In his speech, Raila accused the commission's chairperson of acting with dictatorship. He said that he was shocked when he realized that Chebukati denied the commissioners access to the tally.
He argued that decisions must be reached by a consensus or a vote of majority of the members present and Chebukati had no power to make decisions on behalf of the IEBC, a body which is mandated by the constitution to conduct elections.
He rejected the declared results by Chebukati as null and void. In his view, he said there was no winner or president elect and that Chebukati acted with gross impunity..
He stated that he will challenge the declared results in a court of law and was certain that justice will prevail.
