The 2022 elections present a very critical moment in Kenya’s democracy. This is because there is absence of a strong Kikuyu presidential candidate in the two leading coalitions and this seems to be putting our democracy in some fairly good stead. Kikuyu have never lacked a strong presidential candidate but this time round, they will have to take their support elsewhere.
The vote-rich Mt Kenya region has running mates in the two major coalitions and a host of other principal leaders highly placed in both Kenya Kwanza and Azimio la Umoja. Both Martha Karua, Raila's running mate and Rigathi Gachagua, Ruto's running mate are already in the ground selling their agendas and convincing Kenyans to vote them in the coming August.
Since the two presidential teams announced their running mate, am sure you have already started selecting your best candidate according to the agendas they are they selling to you.
Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua are selling their bottom up economic model while Raila and Karua are selling their Azimio One Kenya economic approach. Both of them are assuring Kenyans of good governance where they will fight corruption, grow the economy, create jobs, create wealth, support the common Kenyan and other sweet promises they are giving Kenyans. It is now upon you to determine who is your best so far and I know you have already selected.
Give us your views in the comments section on which team is your best so far since they announced their running mate. Is it Ruto-Rigathi or Raila-Karua?
