DP Ruto's UDA Plot New Strategy to Pile Pressure on Governor Kiraitu to Enter Into a Political Pact

United Democratic Alliance(UDA) connected to Deputy President William Ruto is wooing Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi to enter into a political pact with them ahead of August Polls.

UDA confirmed that it has been wooing the Mt.Kenya long serving politician and leader of Devolution  Empowerment Party(DEP) Christened 'Mbus' for a long time in order to consolidate Meru votes together with those of Tharaka Nithi region.

Reliable sources revealed that UDA has come up with a new strategy that could see Kiraitu coerced by UDA to join UDA under the umbrella of Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

In its plot, UDA has allegedly threatened to front Meru Senator Mithika Linturi to vie for governor position, a move that could see Kiraitu agree as he attempts to retain his seat.

However, Kiraitu is proving hard to Kiraitu. Recently, while speaking in Isiolo county while opening his party's office in the region, Kiraitu categorically said that he was not going to enter into any coalition due to bitter lessons he learnt after joining Jubilee party coalition.

Further Kiraitu's deputy Titus Ntuchiu said that they had heard of rumors of Linturi being into the governor race and that they were ready for him. He also warned Linturi against being mislead to go for the seat as this could mess his political career.

Linturi on the other side as denied being asked to go for the governorship. Close allies to Linturi however, revealed that a UDA top official had directed him to declare is interested on March 15 where he be having a meeting at Laare town in Maua.

This direction comes as an hesitation by Governor Kiraitu to declare his support for DP Ruto despite months of talks and negotiations.
