Deputy President William Ruto defended the United Democratic Alliance’s move to work with ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula's Ford Kenya.

Speaking when when he met leaders from Laikipia North Constituency, the deputy president said his new coalition pact will unite, transform and tackle political mischief in the country. Accompanied by UDA allied legislators Ruto said their union will defeat the tribal agenda driven by a section of leaders in the country.

The National Assembly has adjourned indefinitely after failing to agree on the composition of the House Business Committee. The move has technically paralysed the operations of the house.

Parties challenging the Mumias Sugar Company revival takeover bid by a Ugandan firm Sarrai Group of companies have put up a spirited fight to have the award revoked.

One of the Parties, West Kenya Company, through its lawyer Paul Muite claim they were unfairly blocked after putting in the highest bid of 36 billion shillings. The contesting parties claim Sarrai Company has already began operations despite a court order blocking them from doing so.

Three people died on the spot while ten others were seriously injured in a road accident involving a 14-seater matatu and Lorry at Kimende area of Lari in Kiambu County.

The accident claimed the lives of the matatu driver and two passengers who were seated next to the driver. Police are in pursuit of the lorry driver who fled after the accident.
