This elicited mixed reactions since it came a day after the Ministry of Health issued revised measures to curb the spread of Coronavirus, since the infections were raising exponentially.
The CS in the Ministry of Health Mutahi Kagwe announced that all political rallies and in person meetings were called off, and urged political leaders who had been considered as the super spreaders to suspend their political gatherings.
Speaking on KTN on Wednesday, the Minority Whip of the National Assembly, MP Junet disclosed that the ODM leadership received calls from CS Kagwe and Inspector of Police Hillary Mutyambai on Tuesday, compelling them to shun from conducting such political rallies.
Junet added that they will not be holding their planned tour across the country as they had advised earlier, noting that the party's countrywide tour will commence once the Covid-19 cases decrease.
He also affirmed that the BBI proponents are looking forward for the verdict by the Court of Appeal on the report, assuring Kenyans that they will support which way the ruling takes.
