The Bonchari by-elections is set to be the first one the Handshake partners, Jubilee and ODM will face each other directly. The two parties, since onset of Handshake, has been supporting the one party when there is a vacant seat, like in Msambweni and Kibra, where Jubilee supported ODM candidates since the seats were occupied by ODM Mps.
And now turning to Bonchari Constituency, Ruto's UDA party, ODM and Jubilee are set to compete for the seat left by Mp John Oroo. ODM has already picked their candidate, Pavel Oimeke, while Jubilee will be represented by Zebedeo Opore. UDA will be fielding Oroo's widow, Bitutu for the seat.
Edwin Sifuna, the ODM Secretary General while weighing on Bonchari by-elections, said that ODM will compete in the elections and that Handshake is still strong and different from Bonchari's elections.
The reports comes at a time when there are reported fallout between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, which was informed by claims President Uhuru is favouring Gideon Moi and Musalia Mudavadi and could endorsed any of he two to succeed him in 2022.
