Bullish MP Didmus Barasa Slams Kalonzo, Azimio Over Cabinet Nominees

Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has hit back at Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition after claims that some of President William Ruto's Cabinet Secretary nominees have questionable integrity.

In a press statement on Friday, September 30, Azimio leaders - led by Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka - said that a number of the nominees have pending criminal court cases and as such, President Ruto should "withdraw some of these persons completely to avoid national shame and even international shame."

The opposition coalition vowed to marshal its members in rejecting the said CS nominees when they come for vetting in Parliament.

"This (nominations) was not procedurally done and we shall direct our MPs to withhold approval of those who do not meet chapter 6 threshold of the constitution," Kalonzo said.

But according to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party lawmaker, the Kenya Kwanza government is not worried about Azimio's 'threats'.

"Talk of rejecting the cabinet of [President] William Ruto by [Azimio] minions is Child's play, an equivalent of a child threatening the mother that today we must eat chapati when fact is that ata Unga ya ugali hakuna," Tweeted Barasa.

He is now calling upon Kenyans to ignore the opposition coalition's sentiments.

"They should stand ignored. They are on a wild goose and offering hot air," he added.
