Alfred Nganga Mutua has been a common name in Kenya's political space for quite a time now.He is now serving his second and final term as the governor of Machakos county.Under his leadership the county has developed at a large capacity since infrastructure, education and also health sector health sectors have been improved greatly.Mutua is among the best performing governors in Kenya.
The once spokesperson of the government during President Kibaki's regime already declared his ambition to run for presidency some years back after launching his party ''Maendeleo Chapchap".The party has attracted a lot of people especially the youth.Develeopment is among the key contents in the party's manifesto.
Mutua has been touring the country to popularise himself and probably to counter the influence of his powerful competitors who are also aspiring to be presidents. Not once ,but a dozen of times Mutua has rubbished Ruto's ambition for leading the country.Mutua's movement has not yet spread in the country as compared to Ruto's Hustler movement which is so powerful. Is it wise for Mutua to continue fighting Ruto instead of polularising his agendas?Or is it still early for Mutua to start campaigning 'seriously'?
