The Banditry in Laikipia is now growing into a bigger problem as days pass by. The situation is becoming dire since a long term solution is yet to be found. A number of Kenyans have lost their lives while many others have and are still sustaining serious injuries - something that is not going well with the Cabinet Secretary for Interior Dr. Fred Matiangi.
The disturbed CS has vowed to restore peace in the region no matter what. In recent developments, he has directed that all the non residents move out of the area to allow government to carry out it's operations with the aid of its robust security agencies.
Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina is seemingly perturbed by Matiangi's latest order. He terms it as missing the point. " Who do you suppose is a non resident in Laikipia? Get the pastoralists on the table and come up with a long lasting solution! Threats will not be the solution." Ledama said.
