Last week, the justice and legal affairs committee of the national assembly instructed the head of state Dr. William Ruto to constitute a tribunal and probe the IEBC commissioners who disputed the presidential election results in the August 9 general election.
The president formed the tribunal and just a few days before they could start the probe, two commissioners tendered their resignations with Juliana Cherera being the latest.

Cherera who is the vice chairperson of the commission says that it was after a long consultation with her family and her lawyers that she decided to step down.
In her resignation message, Cherera thanked president Dr. William Ruto for the chance that she was accorded to serve the government of Kenya in the capacity of the vice chairperson of the independent electoral and boundaries commission.
" I sincerely thank his excellency hon Dr. William Samoei Arap Ruto, the president of the republic of Kenya for the opportunity accorded to me to serve to serve the republic," Cherera said.
