Deputy President William is set today on 25th September 2021 to continue his vote hunt where he is expected to land in Migori County considered Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Hon Raila Odinga stronghold.
This comes after the second in command led a charm offensive in Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka's Bedrock in Kitui County in a move seen by many as tactile as he tries to consolidate his support base ahead of a daunting next election as the race to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta takes center stage.
Now, the Deputy President is expected to hold a major rally in Awendo town, Migori County this weekend. He is expected to be hosted by some of the region leaders including Awendo MP Jared Kopiyo who sustained the ODM wave in the region and secured the seat on a Ford Kenya ticket and Kuria West legislator Mathias Robi.
Robi confirmed that they will host the Deputy President together with Kopiyo where they will hold a church fundraiser at Awendo Central SDA church before proceeding to a Mega rally at Awendo Town.
"I will arrive with Ruto from Nairobi in a chopper and we will be received by Kopiyo and other leaders allied to United Democratic Alliance in Migori and Nyanza region. We plan to address the crowd after the funds drive or a major greeting of people in Awendo town,” Robi said.
