With the 2022 general elections fast approaching, the political matrix seems to be changing everyday as politicians align themselves to what they perceive as the winning camp. The president is keen on who will succeed him but he keeps playing his cards close to his chest, confusing all political players.
There has been speculation to among key political leaders that the president had preferred Raila Odinga as his successor. This was evident as the two were campaigning for a constitutional change through the Building Bridges Initiative. This made the president to sideline the deputy president, whom he had promised to support in 2022.
However, there is panic in Raila's Camp as they sense betrayal from the president. Raila's supporters think that he is being fooled by the head of state. The head of state seems to be building William Ruto politically through acts of humiliation.
Raila's supporters claim that the office of the president feeds the now famous Hustler National Intelligence Beauro of crucial information including what is discussed in key meetings. It is because of this that Raila's Camp is feeling betrayed. They have started doubting if indeed the president will endorse Raila in 2022.
