Ruto's Ally Reveals How Impeachment of Meru Governor, Kawira Has Interfered With Their Plans

Embattled Meru Governor, Kawira Mwangaza's impeachment didn't come as a surprise to many Kenyans since the Members of County Assembly had vowed to impeach her in whatever means. The impeachment motion against the Meru Governor was tabled at the floor of Meru County Assembly on Wednesday morning. 67 out of 69 Members of the County Assembly of Meru voted yes to the Impeachment Motion tabled by Hon. DMK Kiogora Member for Abogeta West and Minority Party Whip.

"Honourable members, I wish to declare that the Governor of Meru Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza stands impeached by the Meru County Assembly," Speaker Ayub Bundi Solomon said. Within seven days, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi is expected to convene the house for a sitting to hear Mwagaza's impeachment charges.

Senate Majority Leader, Aaron Cheruiyot has now responded to the impeachment of Governor Kawira Mwangaza through his official Tweeter account. The UDA Senator has stated that the impeachment of the Meru Governor has affected their plans as Christmas Holiday approaches.

The Kericho Senator has joked that Meru MCAs havemde sure that there will be no Christmas break for Senators. Those employed be it in public or private sector are expected to break from work as Christmas Holiday and Happy New Year approaches but it seems Senators will have to put celebrations aside to listen to Gov. Kawira Mwangaza's impeachment case.

Sen. Aaron Cheruiyot has now assured Kenyans that duty calls must be responded to and they will hold a special Senate meeting early next week to listen to the Meru impeachment matter and determine what's best for Meru electorate.
