Among President Moi’s sons and daughters, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has been the one who has been in the public limelight.
When it comes to popularity, Gideon is followed closely by his brother Raymond who is the Member of Parliament for Rongai constituency.
The other sons and daughters have maintained a low-key life ever since their father retired from politics, up to his death in February last year.

However, one of his sons, Philip Moi has been a centre of controversy in the corridors of justice after divorcing his foreign wife Rossana Pluda.
After a successful divorce hearing, the court ruled that Philip will pay his estranged wife’s upkeep and share some properties with her.
Philip Moi has not honoured the court order as he has not paid Pluda Ksh.1.8 Million that which is part of legal fees in the case awarded to him by the court.
This prompted the court to order the arrest of Moi’s son. Muthaiga OCS was told to arrest Philip, an order he has not obeyed.
The senior police boss now risks being jailed for failing to arrest Philip Moi and present him in court as directed in May 2019.

This new development comes just a week after the first anniversary of his father, Daniel Moi that was celebrated in his Kabarak Home in Baringo County.
During the memorial, the political brothers, Gideon and Raymond had a slight exchange of words over inviting politicians to Mzee Moi’s home.
Raymond stated that Gideon should stop holding political events at their father’s home. The Baringo Senator on the other hand said that as the last born son, he was now in charge of the home according to the Tugen culture.
