Ann Waiguru has taken to her social media and called on her rivals whom she claims are planning to rig the polls. Waiguru who is seeking a second term in office has opened up about the current situation in the area hours after counting began.
In a post Waiguru says that voting should stop to address the situation. She says, "Rigging in broad day light - Two ballot boxes with governors' ballots enter Kianyaga through the back door in broad daylight! They MUST be removed and counting must stop! Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC)"
It is still unclear who she accused of trying to tig her votes, although her main contender for the seat was Ngirici who Decamped from the UDA party to run as ab independent candidate in the August polls. The results had shown that Waiguru is on the lead despite being a stiff competition from her main Rival.
