Months after expressing clear indications that he will by using Deputy President William Ruto's UDA Party to defend his Ainabkoi constituency seat in 2022, MP William Chepkut has come out to defend ODM boss Raila Odinga Nyeri County Governor Mutahi Kahiga.
This was after Governor Kahiga, while speaking in Nyeri during Raila's meeting with Kikuyu and Luo elders, warned a section of Raila allies against majoring in history, adding that Mt Kenya people want to hear what Raila's government will do for them should it take power in 2022.
And while taking to his social media pages, Chepkut, who is still admitted to hospital after injuring his legs during an accident, told off Kahiga, saying it is Raila's history that is running all the politics in the country today.
He went ahead to hail Raila describing him as a statesman, adding that Governor Kahiga shouldn't have said such a thing in his presence.
His remarks raised eyebrows among Kenyans on whether Chepkut had completely subscribed to the Hustler Nation narrative or still in President Uhuru Kenyatta's Kieleweke side.
The legislator who was elected on an independent ticket has been on the receiving end together with some of the Ruto-rebel MPs from the Rift Valley but had recently communicated that he fully supports Ruto and will be campaigning for him in 2022.
