Kalonzo Reportedly Accepts The Job Raila Has Given Him, But on One Condition

The details now indicate that Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka may take the proposal offered by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Odinga promised to make the former Deputy President the next Prime Minister of his Cabinet, equal to the next Prime Minister if he could form the next government.

And although Kalonzo, anonymously angry with his partner, submitted his request, his insiders provided a picture of a man determined to return to Azimio.

His condition, however, was that the Azimio Coalition agreement is amended to include a new position, apparently to avoid a brief change thereafter.

His closest ally Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr confirmed the rumours and admitted the situation was a matter of trust.

“What our leader promises are hot air. Not taken. How can we trust that? ” The young and singing Senate told The Star.

Ongoing negotiations, it is reported, are the reasons why Kalonzo, despite previously threatening to go to court to seek the release of Wiper in Azimio, has not yet done so.

Borago MP Ben Momanyi, one of his colleagues, told the newspaper that they did not intend to leave Azimio, and that Kalonzo might join Raila.

“The Wiper Party is in the Azimio Coalition Party. It will not be able to withdraw right now, however. Everything will be settled peacefully. Let's focus on the August 9 elections, ”he said.

If things go well for Raila, Kalonzo may be seen withdrawing his bid for the presidency with his colleague Andrew Sunkuli to re-appoint Mr Odinga.

But this could be a major blow to a rival camp led by Deputy President William Ruto, whose members have been mocking Raila for losing Kalonzo.
