Big announcement expected as speaker Justin Muturi prohibited leaving his house or seeing a woman for 8 days consecutively.
In a report via the Star, it has been established that Speaker Justin Muturi will on Saturday be crowned as the Mt Kenya kingpin in an elaborate historic event that will be taking place at the historic Mukurwe wa Nyagathanga shrine in Gaturi, Murang'a county which is the cradle home of the Gikuyu and Mumbi the father and mother of the Kikuyu tribe.
It has been established that according to the Kikuyu tradition, the National Assembly speaker and who has been chosen as the appropriate leader to lead the Kikuyu Community will be expected not to leave his house or see a woman.
For the 8 days, the Speaker will also be expected to eat a special diet while in isolation including ensuring that he avoid meetings with people except for elders who are cleansed -for the period.
Kiama Kia Ma patron Kung’u Muigai and who is a cousin to President Uhuru Kenyatta together with the Kikuyu Council of Elders chairman Simon Wachira Kiago has informed that the plans of the ceremony are already complete and that on Saturday they will be finalizing the event.
Among other elders expected to attend the event are those drawn from Njuri Ncheke Council[Meru] including those from Embu County identified as the Nyaangi Ndiriri and Ngome where the speaker hails from.
Muranga Elders patron known as Peter Kagwanja has also confirmed that the event will be taking place explaining that it will only be cultural and that they will not allow politics to take the center of the event.
