Details Out on What Has Silently Been The Case in Ruto's Camp Since Raila Took Mt Kenya by Storm

Deputy President William Ruto and his camp are indeed not comfortable with the newfound closeness between ODM leader Raila Odinga and Mt Kenya bigwigs and political magnates, it has emerged.

This is even as the DP suggests that he doesn't care about the bromance between the former Premier and the powerful individuals, reported to influence presidential election results using their funds.

The DP, while addressing mourners in Mukurweini on Wednesday, said that he is not shaken by the indirect endorsement of Raila by the Mt Kenya Foundation members at the Safari Park Hotel on Tuesday.

He said that he remains committed to his 'Hustler' politics, admitting that the tycoons could have already identified Raila as their 2022 candidate but should let him do his thing as well.

"The rich meeting to discuss how next government will protect their wealth is fine and the same should be the case for those holding meetings to teach the other Kenyans on how to be rich," said the DP.

But fresh details now indicate that he indeed is worried about the latest development and his camp is concerned that the latest happenings in the region could weaken his grip of the Mt Kenya region.

The DP, who is seen as fully dependent on the mountain to realize his presidential dream, The Star has established, is also worried about Raila's trips to the region, which seem to be finally paying off.

It is reported that Raila's recent massive rallies in the region and the fact that some top area leaders, including governors, accompanied him, has sent shivers down the spines of the DP's camp.

Raila's successful raid of the region has been confirmed by some top area figures, and was also used by members of the Mt Kenya Foundation while indirectly endorsing him on Tuesday.

"The ground has shifted and things will no longer be the same for Ruto and his Tangatanga camp,” Kieni MP Kanini Kega said recently, stating that soon, Raila will fully take over the region fully.

This even as pundits argue that Ruto will need over 80 percent of the Mt Kenya vote, meaning that a Raila invasion is something he cannot do with as it will make his winning chances slim.
