Donald Trump managed to get the 34 votes required to acquit him from the impeachment trial at the Senate. The former US President is now a free man and the earlier plans by Democrats to bar him from holding any office in the future and stop some of his privileges as an ex-president has been thwarted.
Donald Trump was being charged for inciting insurrection at the US Capitol Hill following his controversial speech that many believed to have ignited the masses. This was his second impeachment trial, and he becomes the first president to be impeached twice by Congress. For the second time he can label the US senate as his savior despite losing the majority in the two houses to Democrats, he still managed to be free.
House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi blamed the Republican leader Mc Connel for failing to accept charges of impeachment to be tabled at the senate. And the Democrats even wished the impeachment trial could have gone on when Trump was still at the White House. Trump supporters can now have the last laugh even after losing the last election
