Africa is a continent that has always had its fair share of leaders who clung to power when they shouldn't have or just became ruthless when they ascended into power.
The cases are many across the continent from the Northern tip to South Africa where apartheid was in practice for decades even after the nation had attained independence.
However, let's look at four African Presidents who met their end gruesomely after a long reign of power or tyranny in their countries:
He was the leader of Libya for a long time before he was toppled in his country when a revolution arose and he did not get out on time.
With a vast wealth that is estimated to have been worth over 20 billion United States Dollars, Qadaffi met his doom at the hands of the rebellion who hanged him after fishing him out of a cave where he had been holed up.

Mobutu Sese Seko
The former leader of Democratic Republic of Congo that has always been embroiled in fighting, is said to have dined on cutlery that was made of gold.
He is believed to have embezzled between 4 to 15 billion United States Dollars during his reign.
In 1997 he was forced into exile in Morocco where he died from Prostrate Cancer that he had already been suffering from.
The former president of Chad had been in power for over thirty years when he met his death at the hands of rebels who wanted him to cease power to other leaders.
He died while fighting the rebels a few months ago in Chad after just getting reelected for another term in office.
Hosni Mubarak was the president of Egypt from 1981 to the year 2011 when he was ousted from power by the people in an uprising.
He was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment in the 2nd of June 2012.
However, in 2020 he was released from prison but died shortly after.
