According to his recent post, he said on Wednesday morning, he met a team of independent electoral and boundaries commission (IEBC) commissioners comprising of Vice Chairperson, Madam Juliani Cherera, Professor Abdi Guliye, Mr. Mathenge Wanderi and Ms Irene Masit.￼￼ He revealed that they held a fruitful discussions around preparedness of the commission with regard to the upcoming elections.(Courtesy photo)
Perhaps, he stated that specifically, the issue of funding of the commission was conversed. He said he reiterated the importance of allocating enough resources to the commission, since it is a key ingredient in delivering a credible, free, fair and timely election.
Equally, he stated that he understood the need for roadmap with clear monitable indicators, spanning from now until the 9th of August 2022. He elaborated that the National Assembly under the stewardship of Budget Appropriations committee (BAC) and justice and legal affairs committee (JLAC) will continue to engage and ensure that the commissions mandate is fully actualised. He said there is planned tripartite meeting between the two committees and the commission in the coming days.His post attracted several comments from Kenyans, majority of them praised him for the good work he is doing.
