There was jubilations at Kaptebengwet township on Thursday night after residents poured into the township's street to celebrate the winning of the elect-mp Mr Brighton Yegon as the mp of konoin constituency.
The jubilant crowd was entertained local secular music emanating from blaring speakers mounted on top of four by four utility vehicles.
The crowd went wild when one of the local musician who lives at Kaptebengwet shopping centre and going by the stage name as "Reality" pelted one of her song "Kipnuachet nyun"
The mp-elect thanked the residents of Konoin sub county for voting overwhelmingly for him.He produced that he will complete the development projects he has initiated before his second term ends.
Konoin MP Brighton Yegon broke the record in the constituency, becoming the first to win two consecutive terms.All the former members of the constituency were only elected for one term
Mr Yegon, who ran under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), also made history as the only MP to be re-elected in Bomet County in this year’s General Election.
He garnered 43,137 votes against the 14,053 of his rival and former MP Sammy Koech, who contested as an independent after losing in the UDA primaries.
