Among the duties of every president in the republic of Kenya is the appointment of various goverment officials including the cabinet secretaries, principal secretaries and even the Chief executive officers of various goverment parastals. The president can also fire any officer whenever there is a need to fire. Now, today in the evening, reports have emerged that president William Ruto has made a new appointment on his goverment.
As reported by the Tv 47 Kenya, the head of state has appointed Mr John Tonui as the new postmaster general of the postal corporation of Kenya. Mr Tonui who was appointed on a acting capacity will be succeeding Dan Kagwe whose term will come into an end on March next year. Dan is a brother to the former cabinet secretary for health, Dr Mutahi Kagwe.
"John Tonui has been appointed as the Postmaster General of the Postal Corporation of Kenya in acting capacity. Mr. Tonui replaces the former Postmaster General, Mr. Dan Kagwe, whose contract expires on March 9th 2023." Said the reports.
