Yesterday, social media was abuzz with rumors that William Ruto's running mate, Hon. Rigathi Gachagua, was allegedly involved in questionable activities during the presidency of Daniel Moi.
The allegations that went viral yesterday were that Gachagua was allegedly involved in the torture of former Runyenjes constituency member of parliament, Hon. Njeru Kathangu, at the infamous Nyayo torture chambers.
In an interview with The Standard, the leader of Mt Kenya has now broken his silence over the claims. According to Kathangu, a victim of the Nyayo torture dungeons, the message was not sent by him.
He stated that the circulating posts are total fabrications designed to smear the running mate in question (Gachagua) and the presidential candidate (Ruto).
He stated that it did not originate from his social media sites and that Nyayo's residence was a very gloomy area where, in rare instances, no one could identify their tormentors.
