Just In: President Ruto Makes New Major Appointments in His Government

The appointment of several top administration officials, including as principal secretaries, chief executive officers of various parastatals, and cabinet secretaries, is among the Commander in Chief's most important responsibilities in Kenya. In any situation when it is necessary, the President is authorized to terminate employment.

Mike Gitonga, a former news anchor, has been named the new Secretary of State, according to information that is surfacing.

According to information given to the local media by a dependable source, Gitonga, who once served as the Government spokeswoman, will hold the office in charge of handling administration-related material. Colonel (Rtd) Cyrus Oguna, who had previously served in the position, resigned on September 1.

The Secretary of State's office would be in charge of directing the creation of news releases, updating the information on the government website, and evaluating public appearances, as stated in the Constitution.
