Museveni's Message To Muhoozi On Who Will Succeed Him As President Of Uganda

Since ascending to the throne in 1986, Uganda's president Yoweri kaguta Museveni has been in charge.

Museveni claimed in an interview with KTN TV on Sunday night that the last 36 years of his leadership have been the only time Uganda has seen real development.

The first 24 years, in his opinion, were a waste because the country did not advance but rather went backward.

"Because we regressed in the first 24 years, Uganda has only made development for 36 years. Uganda is an extremely wealthy nation, as you can see "Museveni stated this.

When questioned about the way he handled his son Muhoozi, who had threatened to take over Nairobi, he defended him by saying that he preferred to keep the bad under control while allowing the good to flourish.

When asked if he intended to name him his successor, the president stated that decision would be made by the Ugandan people.

"The population of Uganda exceeds 40 million. The decision will be made by them. General Muhoozi is a ticking time bomb, thus they will decide what to do if they learn that "Museveni stated this.

As an NRM member, he declared that his only commitment to follow the party's succession policies.

Many Ugandans believe that muhoozi will automatically succeed Museveni to the monarchy in the event of his death.

The president's statement implies that he will not support his son for president when the time comes.
