Kenya power has announced power blackout that will affect three counties countrywide tomorrow April 22. The three selective Counties set to be affected by the power outage include Nairobi County, Elgeyo Marakwet County and Kiambu County which is expected to be affected more.
In a statement shared on their twitter account, Kenya power noted that the planned power interruption is scheduled for network maintenance purposes which is expected to last for at least 8 hours.
“The following areas are on scheduled maintenance tomorrow Thursday 22nd April 2021”, they shared.
According to KPLC, residents in Nairobi County residing in areas such as Runda, part of Ruaka Rd, Horse Shoe Village, Mji wa Huruma, Ruaka Drive, Runda Drive, Camphor Rd, Tara Rd and adjacent customers will experience the power outage. Others who will be affected are residents living in areas such part of Limuru Rd, part of 2nd Parklands, City Park Est, Ola station, part of 5th Parklands, Mtama Rd and adajacent customers.
In Elgeyo Marakwet County, areas such as Barwesa, Cheptebo, Biretwo, Chegilet, Kobulwo, Rimoi, Chepsigot and adjacent areas are expected to experience the power interruption from 9am to 5pm in the evening.
Residents in Kiambu County will be the most affected with most areas scheduled to experience blackout for at least 8 hours. Areas such as part of Limuru town, National bank, Co-op bank, Auto Springs, Whole of Kwa Mbira S/Centre, ngenia high school, Thigio, Ndeiya, Nation media, part of Rironi, St. Mary,s Ruamburi, Ndeiya dispensary, Total Tarabana, Kamandura, Fresh N Juice, Gulf Energy, St. Mary’s mission hospital and adjacent customers.
In addition, parts of Kwamaiko, Nembu, Gathage, Jacaranda water, Nembu school, Ngenda, Kambui school, Kwa Maiko shopping centre and adjacent customers are set to experience the power outage scheduled for tomorrow.
