Kenya`s viral political analyst, Mutahi Ngunyi has broken his silence following the sentiments of Orange Democratic Movement Leader Raila Odinga after the later took to the public to assert that he will jail all corrupt leaders in the country and Deputy President William Ruto is not an exception.
The outspoken, Ngunyi, has noted that Raila`s bid to fight corruption by jailing the current second in command will be a difficult path for him, adding that fighting corruption is not an easy task in Kenya, claiming that Raila has not created a good rapport with Kenya`s deep state system.
Ngunyi noted that the cartels have never embraced working with the Former Prime Minister, which might be so dangerous for him, hinting out that should Raila become President, he might introduce some radial changes that will affect, both the deep state and the cartels.
“In his strategy, he has done almost everything, but the segment of the cartels have never embraced Raila Odinga. This is because of the fear that should he become President, he is likely to introduce radical changes,” said Ngunyi.
According to Ngunyi, the Former President Mwai Kibaki equally promised Kenyans of ending corruption when he took office in 2002, but didn’t do as he said, leaving Kenyans in a more corrupt zone than it was before.
“When Mwai Kibaki took over the office in 2002, he assured Kenyans of corruption as his number one priority. It would be a thing of the past. By the time he was leaving office, corruption was the way of life,” added the political analyst, Ngunyi.
He advised Raila to lower down his weapons and mingle with powerful people like the late Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli, whom he alleged camouflaged and when he ascended to power, he turned into something else.
“I advise him to do what Magufuli did, Camouflage. Very few people thought that he would be one of the biggest fighters of corruption. He clicked well with everybody, but once he became the president, his true colors started exhibiting,”
“He should learn from the DP, William Ruto goes to church, and people believe he is the holiest in the country. He plans to show his real character once in office. Raila Odinga needs to hide certain things,” said Ngunyi.
