With just about a month to much awaited August 9, elections Mount Kenya region politics has heightened with both Deputy President William Ruto led Kenya Kwanza camp and that of Azimio- One Kenya of Raila Odinga touring the region to drum support.
Following that, Mizani Africa has finally released an opinion poll results that is about to prove if at all Meru county is now a battleground or William Ruto political strongholds, days after Kenya Kwanza tour in the County.
The poll was conducted between Azimo coalition candidate and Kenya Kwanza candidate. See latest poll upshot in three major seats, Women Representative, Senator and governor.
In Senatorial contest, Kenya Kwanza candidate on United Democratic Alliance ticket Kathuri Murungi leads with huge margin. The vocal hustlers leader got 53.3% of polled sample.
He is followed by Hon. Joseph Aramba of Azimio coalition who got 23.5%. Others in the race is James Mithika 8.5percent, Kinoti Marete 6.4percent just to name a few.
Similar results was seen in women Representative contest with UDA candidate Elizabeth Kairemia leading race at 43.5 percent. She was followed by Edith Mwirigi of Azimio- One Kenya coalition. Felicity Biriri came third with 20.1%.
In the gubernatorial contest, incumbent senator Mithika Linturi is leading race dethrone Kiraitu Murungi. The UDA candidate lead race at 32.3 percent. He is followed by Kawira Mwangaza who got 29.4 percent. Incumbent Governor Kiraitu Murungi also ardent supporter of Raila Odinga presidential bid fall third in the race 28.1 percent. 10.2% of the polled sample remain undecided.
