Some of the residents have counted loses on their perishable goods which depends on electricity to keep them fresh. As late as 20:30pm, the power was not yet on leaving the residents restless and worried with the blackout.

The power interruption affected some parts of Uasin Gishu, West Pokot, Tranzoia and Elgeyo Marakwet counties. It also extended to Kainuk region and it's environs.

A prominent politician from the North Rift Valley area lamented about the issue to KPLC on failing to honour their word. According to Hon. William Chepkut, KPLC failed to keep its word on restoring power by 5pm.
