Tallying of votes is ongoing at Kiambu county in juja constituency.The tallying is taking place at Mang'u Highschool.This is after the by elections held yesterday in over a hundred stations.The by elections were held after the death of Francis Waititu who succumbed to cancer after battling it for a long time.The governor of Kiambu county Mr Nyoro together with the the women rep Gathoni wa Mushomba tried to bring chaos and tried to stop the counting of votes saying that the process is not genuine and transparent.
Luckily the situation was dealt with and the tallying now continues.Indepedent Electoral and Boundary Commission that is in charge of elections in Kenya is controlling the tallying.The chairman of the Indepedent Electoral and Boundary Commission Wafula Chebukati is physically present in the tallying station to witness the tallying.Until now around 44 station's vote have been counted and the officials still have a long way to go to complete the tallying of 130 polling stations. Wafula Chebukati says that at around 2.00 PM and 4.00PM the tallying will be complete and the announcement of the winner made.Until now George Ndungu of P.E.P party is leading with at least 58 percent of the votes followed closely by Susan Waititu who is sponsored by the Jubilee party.The people are hoping that they will get a leader who will soar Juja constituency to greater heights in terms of infrastructure and sanitation.The public is still commenting on the Kiambu governor's behavior and the women representative saying that their behavior was unexpected and not pleasing at all.
