It has emerged that former Prime Minister Raila Amollo Odinga's close friend holds a fake degree and this could make him get disqualified from contesting in the forthcoming general elections.
This comes despite the fact that Raila Odinga has allegedly already blessed him to go for a top government position in the August elections in his county.
The Saturday Star newspaper has managed to reveal that the businessman who is eyeing a county seat in one of the cosmopolitan counties is growing cold feet after realising that word has leaked on the doubtful authenticity of his alleged degree certificate.
He is said to have tried to have the Commission of University Education approve his degree through back doors but the attempts have not yet succeeded.
The man is now said to be considering withdrawing from the race before his education background comes to embarrass him. Tough times ahead for him, indeed, as the battle for the county top post intensifies.
