School Reopening: CS Magoha Announces The Following Today

The government of Kenya through the Ministry of Education has today demonstrated a possibility of reopening schools in May, following the immediate closure by President Uhuru Kenyatta on 26th March 2021.

Addressing journalist from Nairobi County, the Minister for Education Professor George Magoha has now asked parents to worry less adding that the school reopening dates haven't been changed and the Government has no intention of altering them.

On the proposed measures to ensure that the Coronavirus doesn't spread in schools like it was the case in last year, the Government is now producing 2.4 million face masks which will be distributed equally to all public schools in both secondary and primary level before schools are reopened. He has also reported that no single student will be going for lunch at home after reporting the Government is in plans of introducing a school feeding program in schools in May.

"As obvious, his excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta hasn't ordered that schools won't be reopened in May. By the way, who said that we have closed schools forever? Kindly let our parents be notified that schools will open again in June and avoid the circulating rumours," Magoha said.
