Garissa township constituency member of Parliament Hon Aden Duale, the former leader of the Majority in the National Assembly, has reacted to the Committee established by president Uhuru Kenyatta to oversee the transition of power from his administration to the next one after August polls.
The United Democratic Alliance party politician declared the constitution of the Committee as illegal arguing that the secretary of the cabinet is the chairperson of the assumption of the office of the President Committee.
According to him, Currently there is no secretary to the cabinet as president Uhuru never appointed one after Monica Juma was appointed cabinet Secretary, he stated that Kinyua cannot chair the transition Committee as he has been assigned by the president.
"Mr. Joseph Kinyua was never appointed as Secretary to the Cabinet. He cannot Chair or even purport to Chair the Committee. He is a stranger as a Chair of the Committee." Read part of his statement.
"Hata Kama, This is blantantly illegal and falls flat on the face of the law." He added.
Those in the Committee include Kinyua, Cs Matiangi, Robert Kibochi, Anne Amadi, Attorney General Kihara, and Philip Kameru.
