Already those in support of BBI report have started to back off among them Governor Wickliffe Oparanya, Sospeter Ojaamong and Okoth Obado who spelled doom for BBI. Its for this reason that clearly BBI might go nowhere before 2022 given the prevailing circumstances in the country.
Every sane Kenyan will obviously tell you BBI is not a priority for the fact reason that Kenyans are already battling Covid-19 as we harsh economic times. Therefore bringing a referendum at the height of a pandemic is the highest height of dishonesty for any leader a reason many leaders intially supporting BBI have backed off.
ODM team have also seemingly backed off support for BBI as some feel the report must be amended while Uhuru Kenyatta team feel that should never happen. This therefore means that the referendum report might not be achieved given the differences in parliament as well BBI secretariat among the two teams.
Political pundits and observers as well opine that the remaining time for achieving BBI report might never be achieved becouse of the incoming general election as well. It's already clear leaders even those supporting BBI have already started plans on how to go about 2022 and abandoned BBI for fact reason that within the remaining time two elections cannot happen.
