With only hours to Deputy President William Ruto's visit to Nandi county, the entire source of champions has been taken over by an excited mood as residents and local leaders wait anxiously for the self-proclaimed Rift Valley region's political kingpin.
The preparations to receive the guest of honour and the second in command who enjoys a massive following and who hails from the neighbouring Uasin Gishu county were at top gear and almost complete by sunset, a clear indication that everything will be in order by the time Ruto will at his home turf on Friday morning.
County and local leaders led by area governor Stephen Sang and Senator Samson Cherargei were at the ground to supervise all the activities at various points where Ruto will visit, launch projects and address his supporters.
As usual, motorcycle operators, private car owners and Nandi hustlers were guided and trained on how they will accord the guest a heroic welcome and join his trail as Ruto is set to visit Aldai, Nandi hills and Emgwen constituencies where he will launch various multi-millions projects and spread his Hustler Nation gospel amidst the heated BBI and 2022 presidential race.
"We are ready to host the Deputy President H.E Dr William Samoei Ruto tomorrow in Nandi to commission several development projects.During my interaction with Wananchi in Nandi Hills," governor Stephen Sang took to his Facebook page to confirm their readiness.
According to photos, videos and posts on various Nandi county social media platforms, the second in command is expected to receive a heroic welcome at his native home and get the blessings for the upcoming battle as he focuses his eyes on the State House. Thousands of William Ruto's supporters from the county and other parts of the country are expected to converge at various points at the three constituencies to hear directly from their leader.
By the time of publishing this article, local political opinion shapers were still having hot debates and analysis of Ruto's visit at various entertainment joints across the county.
