The 2022 presidential elections are expected to pit Current Deputy President William Ruto against former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as the two leaders look to fight for the opportunity to take over from President Kenyatta when his term comes to an end in the next few months.
The two leaders have so far indicated that they are looking to go all the way to the ballot box in a race that many political pundits have identified as a two-horse affair.
The ODM party is currently planning for a major event that will be held on 9th December. Initial reports had indicated that Raila will be given the ODM ticket during the event.
However, it has now emerged that the meeting's agenda will be to discuss whether they will be continuing with their plans to work with jubilee in next year's general elections. According to Raila, the Party will nominate its flag-bearer during an NDC meeting that will be held early next year.
"We have invited Jubilee to attend our event on December 9 where we shall make a decision on whether to continue or not but our NDC shall come later next year where the party will nominate its flag-bearer," He said.
