The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Hon Raila Odinga has received a major boost in his presidential bid after at least 30 out of 47 governors endorsed his candidature in this year's general elections scheduled for August 9.
Speaking today Monday 17 January, 2022 after a consultative meeting with the former Prime minister in Naivasha, all the twenty six governors allied to the Azimio la Umoja movement, who were present pldged to drum up support for Mr Odinga ahead of the August general elections.
4 other governors who didn't make it to the meager event due to unavoidable circumstances are said to have also assured Raila their support.
Speaking during a press conference, Makueni Governor Kibutha Kibwana shelved his presidential ambitions to support Odinga.
Kibwana revealed that the residents of Makueni county gave him the nod to join the Azimio la Umoja movement adding that he will be at peace if Raila wins the presidential race.
