The race for the Siaya gubernatorial seat is day by day taking a new twist as it remains few days to general elections. Siaya region which is termed as ODM's stronghold is now a battle ground between the Siaya Senator James Orengo of ODM party and Nicolas Gumbo of UDM party.
According to the latest opinion poll released by Mizani Africa, James Orengo is seen be fighting for his political survival in Siaya as Gumbo is now giving him sleepness nights in the race to succeed Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga. According to the analysis of the Mizani Africa opinion poll results, Nicolas Gumbo is likely to be the next governor for Siaya County as he is now commanding the lead by 50.3% against his rival James Orengo who has 44.0%. The poll therefore shows that Gumbo will win the governor seat if elections were to be held today.
Orengo is one of the Kenya's senior counsels and has been one of the main insider's in ODM, a party that is currently in Azimio and having Raila Odinga as their Presidential Candidate.
