Flamboyant businessman and matatu boss Jamal Marlow has drummed up support for aspiring Mathare Member of Parliament Kelvin Kioko, popularly known as Bahati. Jamal met Bahati on Saturday and promised him that they will walk the journey together.

He said that the hotly contested Mathare Parliamentary Seat should be occupied by a young person like Bahati and expressed confidence that he will clinch the seat in the forthcoming elections.

''Bro, we will walk this journey together Hii ndio kiti yetu mavijana Nairobi. The incoming Mathare Mp, Mtoto wa Mathare mwenyewe,'' Jamal posted on his Facebook page and sparked reactions among his followers, with some of his followers telling him to advise Bahati to quit politics and concentrate on music.

Bahati has been facing a lot of hurdles as he aspires to oust the sitting Member of Parliament Anthony Oluoch. ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna had claimed that the Azimio La Umoja coalition had settled on ODM's Anthony Oluoch as its preferred candidate thereby edging Bahati out of the race.

Bahati hit out that Sifuna and insisted that he was still in the race. Recently, a viral video of him being denied a chance to address supporters when Azimio La Umoja Nairobi candidates were campaigning went viral.
