Zack Kinuthia who is a Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the ministry of sports, culture, and heritage was under fire last night after he suggested that judges should be elected just like those in parliament and the executive.
“Let us not forget where we have come from, if we can install an MP and remove him from office by constitutional terms, if a governor cannot serve for two terms, we must ask that today judges from the level of high court must also be elected by people so that they are also accountable. We must start having these discussions”.
Netizens expressed their wrath on the CAS calling on him to cease from attacking the judiciary and respect their independence as an arm of government
This comes after a five judge bench in high court ruled the amendment bill 2020 to be illegal, so null and void. The BBI secretarial led by Paul Mwangi have already filed an appeal for the BBI case to be re-looked at again.
