Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua fought for Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja to be governor, according to nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba.
The legislature claimed in a statement on Tuesday that Gachagua was working to make sure the governor kept his campaign-related promises.
Orwobat said TV47, "My advice to governor Sakaja is that he must remember that while he was the target of Azimio, it was Gachagua who genuinely fought fiercely to keep Sakaja in office."
The strategy to urbanize Nairobi while also ensuring that enterprises are not criminalized, according to her, is in conflict.
Orwoba advised Sakaja to keep in mind that the UDA was the party that supported him and insured his victory.
"Regardless of how Sakaja views it, unless he wants to be completely honest and admit that he used UDA before, he isn't concerned. He must stand his ground and listen unless he has something to say "She spoke.
On Sunday, Gachagua said that he had pushed for Sakaja to be handed the UDA party's nomination for the position of governor of the nation's capital.
"I want to remind you that I pushed for that young man (Sakaja) to be governor. To make room for him, I actually instructed Bishop Margaret Wanjiru," he claimed.
Bishop Wanjiru of the Jesus is Alive Ministry withdrew from consideration for governor of Nairobi on April 9, 2022.
This came after a discussion at William Ruto's official Karen Residence, who was then the Deputy President.
