Today in the morning, the residents of Mathira constituency in Nyeri county woke up only to hear some worrying news from the DCI. This news is the arrest of their member of parliament, hon Righati Gachagua who was arrested today in the morning. His arrest caused some tensions in the country as he is known to be coming from tangatanga camp which is perceived to be the main target of the goverment agencies.
According to reports, Gachagua was arresting due to corruption related matters. Now, few hours after his arrest, the residents of Nyeri county are reported to have started protests within Nyeri county demanding for the release of Mr Gachagua.
According to the nation Africa, these angry residents have blocked Nyeri-Nairobi highway demanding for the release of Mr Righati." PROTESTS BREAK out in Karatina over the arrest of Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua; Nyeri-Nairobi highway temporarily blocked." Said the Nation.
