Nyeri: UDA MP Claims Gachagua's Impeachment Motion Fits Bunge La Mwananchi Gathering Not Parliament

Mukurweini Member of Parliament John Kaguchia has claimed that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's impeachment motion fits in Bunge La Mwananchi-like gatherings and not Parliament.

According to Kaguchia, the National Assembly should not be engrossed in the ouster motion because it would not bring about tangible achievements aimed at promoting socio-economic transformation in the country. He called on the ruling coalition, Kenya Kwanza to give a wide berth to the motion which might be tabled by the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance legislator Jack Wamboka. He termed the moves as sideshows and asked leaders to focus on providing solutions to problems facing Kenyans and not debating on the motion.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) quipped that the motion ought to be given to Bunge La Mwananchi kind of groupings and not a serious national Legislative House like the Parliament of Kenya.

"I would like to urge fellow Kenya Kwanza MPs to focus on our main goal, which is to improve the livelihood of Kenyans. We ignore sideshows from naysayers and nondescripts who are bringing divisive clarion calls; like the Bumula MP who proposes moving an impeachment motion against DP Rigathi. In fact, such a motion would only fit in a Bunge la mwananchi grouping but not in the National Assembly. I encourage us to continue with our pursuit to rebuild this nation, so we deliver our people from the chains of poverty and hopelessness," read Gachagua's Facebook post.

This comes moments after the Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-Kenya) MP Wamboka threatened to bring an impeachment motion against DP Gachagua for lambasting Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja over ban on entry of Public Service Vehicles into the city Central Business District (CBD).

The happenings have created disquiet and division within Kenya Kwanza as Mt Kenya leaders accuse its Western Kenya colleagues of trying to finish Gachagua politically.
