Not Well in Azimio After Wiper Chair Fires Back at Raila's Plan to Run Parallel Jamhuri Day Event.

Wiper Democratic Movement Party Chairman Hon Chirau Ali Mwakwere has condemned the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader Hon Raila Odinga over plans to hold a parallel Jamhuri Day event on December 12. Makwere has been a staunch and ardent supporter og the Azimio leader and in the August 9th Polls he contested for the Kwale Governorship seat on WDM.

Speaking today 30th November 202, Chirau Mwakwere termed Raila Odinga as selfish and warned him against sabotaging the peace that the country enjoys right now. He claimed that proceeding with the plan would take Kenya a few strides back after it made tremendous progress following the peaceful conclusion of the August 9th general election.

His statement comes after Raila Odinga chaired a coalition Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting in Nairobi, where the decision to launch anti-government pushbacks was endorsed. Also discussed was the possibility of holding a parallel national celebration on December 12, as a vote of no confidence against President William Ruto’s administration.

Raila Odinga’s announced plans to hold the parallel rally in his political base is meant to solicit support for the four besieged electoral agency commissioners facing ouster in the National Assembly. The four Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officials are Vice-chairperson Juliana Cherera and commissioners Justus Nyang’aya, Irene Masit and Francis Wanderi.

The four are facing petitions in the National Assembly over their refusal to accept the presidential results declared by IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati on August 15, 2022.
