The IEBC spent the bulk of Wednesday, July 6, in a crisis conference to examine their alternatives following the revocation of a provision requiring presidential candidates to present copies of supporters' identity cards and a minimum of 48,000 signatories before being approved.
The IEBC governors and legal staff allegedly met to discuss all options, including contesting Anthony Mrima's High Court verdict.
As an outcome of a judgment, the Commission may be forced to include independent candidate Reuben Kigame and Murang'a Governor Mwangi wa Iria on the ballot.
With 32 days to the August national election, the Commission discussed critical issues such as electoral preparedness and the impact of the judgment on campaign time.
